David is the Senior Director of Finance and Operations at Clearlane, a division of Ally Bank. Throughout his career, David has both led and advised on corporate finance, banking, and operations in a broad range of business ventures, from entrepreneurial to well established Fortune 500 companies. As a key strategic partner, Mr. Donell has participated in dozens of capital raising endeavors ranging from real estate syndication, venture capital equity, and debt and social investments. From 2015 to 2017, David was the Chief Financial Officer for Docupace Technologies, a SaaS-based software platform that is a leading provider of secure and compliant electronic processing solutions for financial services firms and their advisors through the industry’s first web-based, SEC/FINRA compliant straight-through processing (“STP”) platform. While at Docupace, he played a critical role in the repurchase of the majority interest of Docupace from a bankrupt parent while simultaneously recapitalizing the Company with new growth capital. From 2007 to 2013, Donell was the Chief Financial Officer at the X PRIZE Foundation, a nonprofit whose mission is to cause radical change for the benefit of humanity utilizing a large prize model as a catalyst. While at X PRIZE, David oversaw the awarding of over $50 million in purse money, negotiated and closed over $60 million in Fortune 50 corporate sponsorship, and facilitated $15 million in funding to the organization through the innovative use of private stock donations. He continues to be both an advisor and donor to the organization. Prior to X PRIZE, David was the Chief Financial Officer for several technologyrelated companies, including Fasturn, Inc., a software platform used for sourcing and tracking international textiles manufacturing and Avega Health Systems, a software company specializing in decision support software for the healthcare industry. Mr. Donell is a certified public accountant, a certified fraud examiner, is certified in financial forensics, and has held FINRA series 7 and 63 registrations.
