Huff has proactively taken her experience in local government along her journey to create unity and progress for all of those ethnic groups that make up the melting pot of Southern California. Del was appointed to the Los Angeles County Affirmative Action Advisory Board. Through Huff’s pioneering efforts in the Carson community, the Bridge of Peace Program was formed, which sets out to unite men and women from across the Country by adopting one another’s family in foreign exchange as a token of diverse Sisterhood and unity.

Known in the community for her ability to bridge experience with sincere compassion, she has played a pivotal role by serving as a resource bridge between governmental services and the community. She has been regarded by civic leaders throughout the County of Los Angeles as a pivotal force in our community. This commitment to serve the community did not appear overnight, but instead was inspired by Huff’s combined 40 years’ experience in local County and City Government.
